In keeping with the Saturday series I’ve been writing, here’s a video – quite a longish one – I compiled of my trek to the Dogon Escarpment. At 28 minutes I think it’s the longest travel video I’ve made. Interestingly I clearly made a mistake with one of the first captions. It says ‘Ouigouyah to Banfora’. It should read ‘Ouigouyah to Bankass’. Anyways – this is one of my best videos I think. It’s long, but you’ll see the experience of going from Burkina Faso to Mali, and walking at the bottom of Dogon Escarpment and heading to the top, the villages, life and sleeping on a mud-brick roof!

Wow, Mali – a country you don’t see posted about every day. One of the few African countries I’ve never had a blog hit from, the others being Burundi, Cape Verde, CAR, Chad, Comoros, DRC, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Niger, Republic of Congo, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Swaziland, and Togo. Okay, that’s more than a few I guess 😉

thanks so much Agness. are you going to Mali next year? Check the safety situation but I hear people are still doing treks in the Dogon Escarpment. consider entering through burkina faso and leaving that way too.
