Today I'm taking you to destination BEIJING. And back in time three and a half years to when I was there last. My first time as an adult in the Chinese capital, and I had to return to two places I had been many years before in 1986 - the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City. And that's today's video for you, a short but sweet one! Enjoy!
So. Destination Kazakhstan? Perhaps not one you’ve ever considered, possibly. Did you know it’s the ninth biggest country in the world? And is home to the Cosmonaut (Russian) Space Program? Or that it’s capital, Nursultan (or as used to be known, Astana) is one of the world’s more unique cities and capitals?
It seems almost surreal to realise that on the 2nd of December last year, ONLY LAST YEAR, my wife and I were enjoying one of the best holidays we’ve had. After leaving the delights of Seville, our favourite stop last year, we took an early morning Ryan Air flight to destination Lisbon, where we would spend a week.
Today there are more shots from being out and about in Seville. There's also a look at the incredible Alcazar Castle - which I am planning a post on - the Casa Pilatos and the Monasterio Santa Luisa de las Cuevas. And I haven't forgotten the imposing, impressive yet garish Plaza de Espana.
Japan's Iwate Prefecture offers some really interesting and different kinds of places to visit - from hardened lava below Mount Iwate to an abandoned mining town. Today I also talk a little about the town of Kesenumma which was badly hit by the 2011 tsunami.
