Folks – China has brought a lot of surprises to me, and they haven’t dried up as yet! The town of Shilin is a short trip by bus from Kunming in Southern China (Yunan Province) and is famous for this ‘Stone Forest’ that is, well not that far from the centre of town if truth be told.

Sounded impressive, and different so I decided I would give it a go and see what it was like. As with every place in China, I was not alone! But I was pretty impressed I must admit! It did feel like I was walking through a forest of Stone.

So come along with me and let’s explore this unique natural attraction together as we gaze at the formations that time, erosion, weather and earth movement has created – the incomparable Shilin ‘Stone Forest’!
