Today in the vlog, I’m taking you to Arashiyama, a district of Kyoto easily reached by train. Arashiyama is famous for its Bamboo Forest, and people flock to it in droves, but there is more to Arashiyama than just the bamboo forest.
I check out the ‘Kimono Forest’ by Arashiyama station, an art instillation designed to replicate the bamboo forest and beautify the station. Also at Arashiyama station is a rather unexpected foot spa, so we try this out too!
We also visit a couple of temples, ‘Tenryu-ji’ sits on the doorstep of the bamboo forest and has its own stunning little lake and garden, but the lesser known Gio-ji is a beautiful 20 – 30 minute walk away and sits in a moss-covered garden and is stunning. Oh and yes, we do visit the Bamboo Forest too – couldn’t miss that! Enjoy!
Thanks for popping by! May the Journey Never End!

There are a surprising number of little things to see or do in the town of Arashiyama!
