Understanding Rwanda’s Resilience: A Vlog from Kigali

Today’s vlog is a little confronting, as I take you to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, and visit a number of places relevant to the genocide that occurred there in 1994, to learn about it and to try and appreciate the fact that somehow the country was able to move on from it and today Kigali is considered one of the most welcoming and safest cities in all of Africa.

It’s not an easy thing to wrap one’s head around, I visited the Rwanda Genocide Museum, the Hotel de Milles Collines (aka ‘Hotel Rwanda’ in the movie), Camp Kigali – where Belgian Peacekeepers were trapped and eventually killed and the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, which is housed in the Rwandan Parliament Building.

Thanks for popping by. Take care and May the Journey Never End.
