Folks, here it is – my first vlog from a place I’ve wanted to visit for years – Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The rock pinnacles through this enormous national park were the inspiration behind the ‘Hallelujah Mountains’ in the Avatar Mountains, and although these ones in China don’t float, they are still spectacular.

The National Forest Park is massive at just under 12,000 acres in size and tickets grant you access for four days. There are at least three gates or entrances you can use to access the park – it’s a little over 30km from Zhangjiajie City, and in today’s vlog I enter from the most popularly used entrance – the East Gate, and taking the recommended route through the park titled ‘Line B’.

So check out the views and the attractions of this place that is truly ‘otherworldly’ – for example the Bailong Elevator which rises 326 metres in 88 seconds, the ‘First Bridge Under Heaven’ and a sensational cable car ride! Enjoy!
