Hi all. I am on my way to a lake called Iskanderkul and whilst stopped on the side of the road waiting for the driver I thought I’d at least start a blog post.
Yesterday I was stuck in a lot of rain in Dushanbe as I went to a few museums. Unfortunately two were closed for reasons I was unable to ascertain. I can say the national Museum is in a very impressive building. The highlight of both museums I got to actually visit was a 13 metre reclining Buddha. The first real thing in the Museum of Antiquities and a replica on the National Museum.
I was unable to avoid getting soaked though and spent the day walking briskly to keep time getting wet to a minimum.
I was to spend tonight in Dushanbe but it made more sense to head to Iskanderkul. Wherever you are take care and May the Journey Never End!
Buddha remple existing in a muslim country…Wow .
Maybe it is pre-islamic and Tajikistan is close to the sub-indian continent geographically…
