Here you see the final ascent to the very top of Sigiriya. As you can see there is a giant lion’s foot carved into the rock. I was absolutely exhausted by this stage, but still found the strength and the will to look beyond the vertigo to get to the very top! Sri Lanka, 2012.

I hope I can make it to Sri Lanka one day. It seems like such a beautiful and interesting country. We landed in Sri Lanka on our way to the Maldives. So we only caught a glimpse of its beauty from the air.
It’s very much worth visiting can’t wait to go back one day
