Here’s one of my favourite travel pics. In the background is Jeti-Oguz, or the ‘Broken Heart’, a large reddish rock that split in two and looks like a, well, broken heart. I was taking photos of it and this local family asked to be in the photo. Slightly odd, yes, but with such a hat, how could I say no? This is not too far (easy afternoon trip) from Karakol.

Beautiful picture!! The sky against the hill looks amazing!
This looks quite different to the vegetation I saw in Kyrgyzstan – but I didn’t make it across to Karakol. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Beautiful photo! I dream about Kyrgyzstan, so I look forward to reading more about your travels.
Ah, I see, it looks like heart that broken 😀 what a name!! Great picture!
Wow
I think I’d have to search far and wide to find another blogger with pictures from any of the “stan” countries.
Fascinating. Love your variety
I heard about this place and seen pictures but yours stands heads above the others. It someplace I’d love to see.
