Many years ago now, Saddam Hussein was still in power in Iraq, and in the north of the country, in Kurdistan, he built himself a palace at the top of a mountain. These days, the few tourists that do dare to tip their toes in the destination that is Iraq often end up visiting this palace, now a shell of the building it once was.
In 2007 100 million people voted to decree which were the new ‘Seven Wonders of the World’, and they decided on – the Pyramids (Egypt), Petra (Jordan), the Colosseum (Italy), The Taj Mahal (India), The Great Wall of China (not sure which country), The Statue of Christ the Redeemer (Brazil) and Chichen Itza (Mexico). Which ones have I visited?

Today the story of my epic journey from the town of Uyuni in Bolivia, the gateway to Salar de Uyuni, to the border town of La Quiaca, in Argentina, passing through such not-particularly-known towns as Atocha, Tupiza and Villazon (the border town on the Bolivian side).
