Hi All. Today is another ‘From Around the Web’ style post. Syria is just coming out of an horrific war. It’s one that really, I don’t know, shouldn’t have happened, and the place has been devastated. And no city perhaps more so than Aleppo, an historic city in the north of the country.
I don’t know that Syria is ready for a return to tourism yet, and now with Covid-19 it’s probably not receiving any tourists at all. However I was going through more videos, as you do, on Youtube and I found this video by Eva zu Beck. Her videos are constantly suggested by YouTube to me, so I thought I would take a look at a couple and I found this one.
Eva seems to be a very compassionate traveller, and she declares she is only interested in travelling to ‘out of the way’ places. This video is from around 12 months ago now, and it takes a very interesting and eye-opening look into Aleppo. The people she meets in this video are just amazing, I have to say, so warm with smiles on their faces. They are rebuilding Aleppo and you have to be impressed by the indomitable human spirit on show here. Enjoy!
I hope you found this video as interesting and in some ways inspiring as I did. I don’t know if I’d visit any time soon, but hopefully in a few years Syria will be a country travellers return to, because it is a country filled with so much.
Thanks for popping by today – May the Journey Never End!
