Howdy all. Today’s photographic journey takes us to a town in Ethiopia, with this amazing castle or citadel in the middle of it which was inspired by European castles and looks quite medieval. It was bombed in the Second World War by the British when Ethiopia was occupied by the Italians, otherwise it might still be in great condition. There’s a busy market area, and like many towns north of Addis, is surrounded by mountains and is quite hilly. Enjoy!

Thanks for popping by today! May the Journey Never End!
This citadel is really unexpected in this region. It is obviously well maintained for visitors. Interesting views of street life too.
Wow – a castle, that was unexpected.
Isn’t it? And very cool
