Howdy all. Today I have compiled a very special video for you! Regular readers may be familiar how I planned in 2004 to travel from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Dakar, Senegal, as much by land as possible. It didn’t quite work out that way in the end – it took me another two trips to get to Dakar so it really wasn’t the original plan (and dare I say, ‘dream’?). However, I did get to the final destination.
2004 saw me travel with a super 8, 8mm film camera as well as my brand new first ever digital camera. As such, I didn’t really shoot much in the way of video on the digital camera. Sadly, all my super 8 films were destroyed in storage thanks to flood back when I was living in Japan, so I wasn’t left with a lot of footage from 2004. And I didn’t shoot much at all in 2006 in West Africa, however I DID in 2007 in Mali and Senegal (you will find three videos on those two countries on my channel if you search – 2 for Mali and 1 for Senegal).
However, here is what I could cobble together including maps to show the routes. I’m pretty happy with it. Is there any relevance in the timing of this video? Well, there might be…. Stay Tuned! and Enjoy!
Thanks for popping by! May the Journey Never End!
