Bridge of the day today comes from destination – Rio de Janeiro. At a little under 14 kilometres – 13.29km to be exact, and joins the city of Rio to the city of Niteroi across what appears to be ocean. At the time it was built, 1968 to 1973, it was the second longest bridge in the world and remained song until 1985. I never went on it, and in fact when I was there noticed it but didn’t know its name or anything about it. My photos are from the Christ the Redeemer statue in fact, a long way away, but the distance does allow one to appreciate how long and what an incredible bridge it is!

Thanks for popping by! May the Journey Never End!
Looks like a very useful bridge.
Handy for sure!
Stayed in Niteroi long ago. Had forgotten that bridge!
Wow nice ! Thanks for visiting!
It’s true that it’s quite amazing to see this bridge stretching across the bay of Rio. I didn’t drive over it, but I passed under it on the ferries that take you to different points around the bay.
Oh that would have been awesome!
