People go to theme parks, churches, temples and museums. But when travelling have you ever considered visiting a cemetery?
Whilst many may overlook Slovakia, they are missing out. Check out why I think this Central European country is the bomb!
So. Destination Kazakhstan? Perhaps not one you’ve ever considered, possibly. Did you know it’s the ninth biggest country in the world? And is home to the Cosmonaut (Russian) Space Program? Or that it’s capital, Nursultan (or as used to be known, Astana) is one of the world’s more unique cities and capitals?
So what do you need to know if headed to Japan? Today I’ll talk a little about the people, customs, language and culture, things to be aware of as a foreigner, and talk a bit about transport and accommodation options. And as always I will finish with a few recommendations on what to see and where to go in incredible Japan! Thanks for joining me!
Pakistan is an exciting, vibrant, colourful country that you may not have considered visiting before. There’s no doubt that it’s not a natural choice as a country to visit, it is rugged and intrepid in many ways, but that also to me adds an air of excitement to travel. The tourist trail is not well laid out, and despite some fairly comfortable transport options on the ground, it is not nearly as straight forward as many countries which are far more popular with the tourists. So let’s see what you need to know for a trip… to Pakistan!
Destination Bolivia is full of interesting landscapes, colour, mountains, winding roads and more. One of the most popular places to visit, usually on a tour from the town of Uyuni, are the incredible Salt Plains – Salar de Uyuni. I’ve been to plenty of different places in my life, from the fire pit that is the Darvaza Crater in Turkmenistan, to the Sahara Desert in the middle of Niger, but I don’t think I’ve been to a place that gave you the feeling you were on another planet quite like the Salar de Uyuni.
We all know that travel comes with some challenges sometimes, sometimes things just don’t run smoothly, you forget things, you miss a connection, you get sick at the wrong time. All of these are hassles, but two hassles that you KNOW you will encounter when you go to certain places – for example Morocco, India, Egypt, parts of SE Asia for example, are touts and hustlers. How do you spot one before it's too late, and how should you deal with the situation? I examine these two questions.
Bolivia is full of rewarding places to visit. I strolled through in a little less than two weeks and probably should have stayed longer. Like quite a bit of the continent, it’s at altitude, from Lake Titicaca in the north of the country, to the salt plains in the south. There's so much in this country that you probably never realised. So read on to find out what, where and how!
Perhaps one day we'll have a spare three weeks and be able to travel. And we might travel to Egypt? Who knows? Here's how I would fill a three week Egyptian Itinerary trying not to miss out on any of the essentials!
