Akihabara is one of the famous districts in Tokyo, a mixture of colour and life, electronics and computer games, of Maid Cafes and Super Potatoes! I was keen to get down to it and no way was the rain going to hold me back! In today’s video I check out the Don Quijote Department store where I find the theatre where AKB48 performs – one of the biggest girl bands in the world! A few floors below is the At Home Maid Café, dare I venture inside? And what is for sale in the Don Quijote?
Not done yet I look for ‘Super Potato’ – an amazing store for gamers. Here you can find games from the 1980s – arcade games – to play, and buy games you probably didn’t realise you could still buy dating back decades too for Nintendos, Game Boys and the like! I try my luck (or lack thereof) at those skill tester games as well before I check out a ‘Manga Café’ – which actually turns out to be a cheap option if you need a bed for the night! All this and more – in Akihabara!
It sounds like a funny paradise for big kids!
