G’day all. I’ve been holding off on this post a few weeks because I wanted to find my coins from Morocco and Mauritania. And today I did so ‘yay’! Unfortunately I discovered I didn’t have many but at least I have something to share with you.
Firstly we start with the Moroccan Dirham. Today it’s worth a little under 10 Dirham to $1USD.

The Mauritanian Ouguiya is not so strong coming in at just under 40 for $1USD. Interestingly the notes are the plastic kind, the technology of which was pioneered in Australia!

Money from lesser known countries I think is always fascinating and to press a coin that is made up of three different elements. Very cool indeed!
Thanks for popping in today! Take care wherever you are in the world – May the Journey Never End!
So cool! I love collecting currency too
Nice! I’ve been to Morocco and still have a small bit of dirham left. Not been to Mauritania, but it’s incredible you went, as it’s a place not frequently-travelled: the currency looks so cool!
I have so many coins left over from my travels, maybe one day they’ll be worth something, again.
