Istanbul is a HIGHLY photogenic city! In one day there I saw three main sites – the Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace with it’s amazing Harem, and the Basilica Cistern, an underground water collection point with columns, arches and now lighting and art! Enjoy!

Fortunately Basilica Cistern is better lit than when I visited, the flash of my camera alone could not do much against the darkness of the underground.
When I first visited in 2004 it wasn’t so well lit. Pity about the cost these days..
I remember how enthralled I was in this underground cistern. I visited Blue Mosque as well as a bazaar. You managed a lot in a day
The mosque was sadly closed for reconstruction. I meant to get to the bazaar but time got away from me
