Hi all. Well, over in the Northern Hemisphere it’s getting cooler now as winter approaches. I want to take you all back today to 2016 when I visited Cairns, up in Queensland – in the very north of Australia. I went in July and it wasn’t as hot as I was expecting. Which is not a bad thing – maximums in the high 20s are perfect! There’s a lovely area by the shore with a pool which is very nice. The main reason I went to Cairns on this occasion was because it was Anyways, here are the pics – Ennjoy!

Looks like fun, Andy. We stayed in the rainforest near Cairns and got trapped at the hotel due to heavy rains! Very beautiful part of the country.

This part of Cairns seems to be mostly geared towards tourism, is there a ‘normal’ city next door?
there is. but it is definitely a touristy town with an economy relying quite a bit on the tourist dollar. Thanks for popping by!

Good old Cairns! Jeremy and I used it as our home base for the final two week of our van trip. Our favorite thing was to just sit at the picnic tables at sunset and watch all the bats!
not a bad place for a home base!
