Melbourne Revealed – Melbourne General Cemetery

In this episode in ‘Melbourne Revealed’ I meet up with the indefatigable Ivan Nevill and we head to the Melbourne General Cemetery to give it a little bit of an exploration. We check out the graves of some former Australian Prime Ministers and chat a bit about them. We also see the monument to explorers Burke and Wills, the Holocaust memorial, the grave of Peter Lalor (leader of the Eureka Stockade), the grave of Walter Lindrum (billiards great) and ask ‘What is a memorial to Elvis doing at Melbourne Cemetery?’ So join us as we present the Melbourne General Cemetery, a place with its own sadness, but also a beauty too. And what will the earliest grave that we find be?

So I hope you enjoy this latest effort!

Thanks for dropping by! May the Journey Never End!

  1. Haha you named a swimming pool after him! That’s a bit dark, but funny! And that cemetery is so huge. Was that really a snooker table as a grave stone I saw? That is a first for me to see.
