Avianca Airline Review: Budget or Full Fare?

Hey there! Today’s FLIGHT REVIEW takes us on an airline based in Colombia, Avianca. Years ago I flew them to the Galapagos Islands, but in that time they went bust over the Covid years, and then were reborn as the airline they are today.

The question is – are they are a budget or full fare airline today? And flying them I found it very hard to pin down, because the prices were not really budget prices, although they weren’t expensive either. But at the same time no entertainment, no free food on board, it wasn’t very clear.

On this vlog I take two flights, from Santiago to Bogota to Panama City. Both flights I received emails with options to some sort of upgrades, and so for a little over $100USD on each flight I upgraded – first to economy plus to Bogota, which seemed to only afford me more legroom and priority boarding, and then to Business Class or Premium (they seem to call it both at times) for the second flight.

Come with me as I try out Avianca’s different classes and see how they compare. Avianca is a big airline for South/Central America and has a lot of connections to the USA too. Enjoy!

Thanks for popping by! May the Journey Never End!
