Yes it’s one of those blog posts that is sort of reflective and yet forward thinking, ethereal and self-indulgent, and you know, stuff.
Well life is moving along at a rapid rate with me at present. With a big trip less than three months away now, I have been taking on extra shifts and been working 100 plus fortnights, yet still finding I don’t have enough money for everything I’m hoping to see and do, including a trip 2017 and saving for a house deposit (that’s more of a 4-5 year goal).

So yeah I realise at the moment I’m a sort of ‘have your cake and eat it too’ sort of guy! I just got back from Cairns earlier this week and so there are a few reviews and posts coming up from that trip, and also a few from Melbourne as well as I’ve been to a few places I thought were worth blogging about.

As for the pace of the blog, now that it’s sort of moving again I’m going to be careful as I don’t want to end up with the sort of burn I was facing two months ago. I’m looking at two or three posts a week max. That seems sustainable and I have a few up my sleeve too which have already been written such as my Tiger Air review which you can expect in the next week.

The Cairns trip was a much needed five day break, but BANG! I’m right back into it all already with work. Cairns was originally about supporting my football team who had a one-off match there in Far North Queensland, but it was perfect for a break. I took a train ride through the rainforest and an amazing cable car ride back. The weather was, ummm, disappointing. Unseasonably cold. Very unexpected was freezing at one point and actually ended up buying a jumper (sweater) whilst in Cairns.

But more on that in the next couple of weeks. It seems surreal to think that in just over 2 months I will be jetting off to Quito and discovering South America. Fingers crossed until then but I have a tonne of prep to do before then including a visa for Brasil (it’s visa free over the two Olympics but not in December when I’ll be there), vaccinations no doubt (think I’ll need another yellow fever one) and well, I’ve already drafted a packing list as well! Seems I need a new travel shaver, my Phillips one has been good and lasted me over 10 years, but well, the poor thing laboured terribly in Cairns.
So anyways. More to come, this is more of an ‘update’ sort of post. Wherever you are in the world, take care and May the Journey Never End!

Exciting moments – I am sure you will enjoy South America! Good luck with the preparation 🙂
Thanks Indah!
Oh i can certainly relate…from the preparing, working more to get more and trying to make sure I do still have money for the trip itself…good luck and don’t stress it out too much like I did! Haha… 🙂
Thanks Sha!
Ecuador – exciting!! Place I’ve wanted to go to for a while. Look forward to reading about that!
