We’ve had a great little getaway in cairns this July. The walk along the shore in Cairns is actually really well presented, with a long board walk and heaps of activities for the kids with play grounds that incorporate water and a pool. I was really impressed.
There’s plenty of grass to stretch out on and just lie back and relax. The weather hasn’t been that warm, mid-twenties Celsius at best, but that is still double or more what it has been in Melbourne this year. We laid back on the grass and listened to a band play some tunes whilst others did likewise, or played Frisbee, or even lay back in one of those Inflatable Air Lounge Hangout things which suddenly seem to be popular. We saw several using them. You know the ones, I’m always seeing ads on TV and Facebook for them.

So anyways, a lovely way to spend a few hows. May the Journey Never End!

It’s great that you showed this – when I worked as a travel agent I had to shatter so many people’s dreams about Cairns being an idyllic beachfront city, and tell them that while the promenade is quite pleasant and well-done, the palm-fringed beaches are a few kilometres away at least. I’ve never been there, but this looks like a lovely place to stroll and hang out (and cool off).
still it was pleasant enough! But youre right, no amazing beaches in Cairns at all!
The beach looks really nice and surprisingly not that busy. I agree with Tim that it would be a perfect place to stroll and hang out for the weekend.
strangely the weather was very cool when we were there. Yes, July is the coolest month but usually is still like high-20s. we had low 20s.
Sounds like a super chilled out break – pool looks enormous!!
Nothing is ever super chilled out with me! I have to learn to allocate time for chilling!
It’s been so long since I was there – fun to see it again! The pool looks so inviting; I’d have been in there for sure!
Yes the pool looks awesome but I think it’s just for the kids!
Haha – oh, well – not sure that would stop me on a hot day!
